This video is for my back to me bunch. You know the group of you that are trying to get back to a better self and you're working right alongside with me and I'm gonna encourage you and you're gonna encourage me and we're just gonna do this together and get back to who we really want to be. Today is kind of like a get ready with me. Although not really I'm just waiting for these to cool off so I figured I'd talk to you and if you were at my live the other day you know what curled hair means if you know you know. If I curled my hair there's a reason why I curled my hair. Anyway today I want to talk about knowing your limits. So yesterday I was coming off of a day where I'd gotten zero sleep. Like we're talking very little sleep the day before and I was very tired and I got on to the elliptical yesterday morning and it's kind of so tired that I didn't really pay attention to how far I'd gone and I had gone through I do it by songs. I don't even close my eyes. I don't look at the thing and I just go but the problem was is the songs were very short. So when I looked down on my fifth song which is how many I've been trying to do I noticed that I wasn't even at the one mile marker. So I just close my eyes and said okay we'll just do five songs to finish that. I did the fifth song and it was a long song and when I looked down again I had been at one and a half miles. Now mind you I was exhausted and I was sore and I didn't have any trouble breathing but I was really really sore. My legs are sore. My back was sore. Everything was uncomfortable and I tried to do the elliptical three times a day. So I was doing it four times a day but now that I'm doing it longer since I had to cut it down to three times a day because it just can't take that much time out of my workday. But I I was feeling sore and I was feeling like I had overdone it. I felt like I had pushed myself past my limits and so when I went to go and get on it at lunch time just before you lunch I just could barely even make it a mile and I got to that one mile marker and I was so tired and I was like but I I've been doing more than a mile so I told myself that I'll do one more. I did. I did the 1.25 but I felt horrible afterwards. I just was too tired. I didn't have enough energy in me. I was not recovered from the day before. It wasn't good. So then here comes my third time that I do which is just before I leave the office and I realized you know I don't want to hurt myself. I was so tired after the one and a half. I was beyond proud of the fact that I did one and a half but I barely did the one and a quarter the next round and I just don't think it's worth hurting myself. So I said no. I came home. I ate dinner and I went to bed. Now mind you I just told you on my three thankful things that I slept for 11 hours last night. Clearly I was exhausted. I was so tired that I had no business trying to do as much as I would do on a day where I had normal rest where I had recovered and so that first the first round I was proud of myself. I was just so tired. The second round I should have known better and the third round I'm proud of myself that I said you know what I can't do this. Today is just not the day for me to do this. Now that I'm really rested I'm going to probably just do my normal three rounds and I'm so grateful that I feel better today but I think the lesson for today is that sometimes you just need to tell yourself no. Today is not the day for me to push myself past my limits because you can hurt yourself and limits are what you set for yourself. You don't need to have a goal past what you're capable of. You need to have a goal that you can do and that's my that's my talk for today.
