I’m connected thousands of women in AI - mostly peers - but finding other women who are on a similar path as me has been challenging. For one thing, we’re all too darn busy. For another thing, there’s no one right way. We’re all figuring this out at the same time. I learned a life hack from Noelle Russell today (find her on socials - she’s amazing) during our interview for The AI Readiness Project podcast and we discussed this. Watch the vid for the advice! #humancenteredai #sheleadsai #womeninai #aiconsultant

The more accomplished we've become, the harder it is to find a mentor. And I want to give you a breakthrough that I learned today from Noel Russell. If you're not following her, you absolutely must. She is such a bother. She's worked for all the big name companies. She's an entrepreneur now. She started the AI Leadership Institute. She's got TED Talks amazing. We just interviewed her for the AI Readiness Project podcast. And what really stuck with me was her method of finding mentors and role models because I have really struggled without that. I mean, it's a reason why we launched the AI Consulting Accelerator was just because, like, I've been through it. And I don't know a lot of other people who have. And I just want to share what I know. But here's what Noel did. We researched on the people who she would love to have as a role model. The people who were five years ahead of her, ten years ahead of her. She had AI do research on what they were doing five years ago, ten years ago. And their moves, the things that they did, the decisions that they made. And it provided her with a little bit of a template, right? This is what it could look like. This is what I don't want it to look like. Which, in many ways, is what a mentor does for us. Of course, it's different from a sponsor, right? Learning about somebody online is not going to necessarily help you with, like, a warm intro to somebody. So I'm not saying you should stop looking for mentors and sponsors. But, in the absence of that, look at the career path of women who are five and ten years ahead of you in the general tech world and whatever your vertical is for your subject matter expertise. So, I hope it's helpful.

You don’t have to do everything at once - everything compounds in learnings and productivity and excellence. In fact, I’d do like 3 upgrades at a time. Implemt, love with them, continuously improve. Build out from that core. We’re a bad example as we are changing our whole operating system flint Notion plus Claude. It’s a lil wobbly, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I highly recommend spiffing everything when you migrate. Make a file cleaning skill and go to town. #sheleadsai #ai #humancenteredai #womeninai

#stitch with @Erica Hanna I don’t think we’re mad enough. And I also think we have a right to our joy. #sheleadsai #ai #humancenteredai #womeninai

I’ll be sharing using AI to pick out your outfits when you travel, how to use AI to find the exact right people to reach out to for meet-ups at a conference, create and track KPIs (if you’re getting on a fly fly, you gotta define success!), using AI to get grounded during travel stress, and so on. Can you believe I e traveled for work at least 1,000 times? Insane. Bananas. I’ve traveled to the Bay Area over 300 times - not counting the years when I lived there. When I travelled for work, it meant spending entire weeks with men. I had to drive men around (“had to” due to power imbalance), pump breastmilk in the car while a guy colleague wandered around a parking lot (like a university president - how cutesy and demure) going to dinner w men into late night hours (I quit doing that - dangerous). Work travel was always stressy bc I “had to” take care Of the men. Bring snack and water, pick them up at their homes, bring them gifts, eat at their their clubs to make them look good. If anyone ever wonders where I got my fuel for women being centered, those life experiences in a massively imbalanced career are the primary culprit. #sheleadsai #ai #womeninai #iwd
