5 meanings of the Russian word "давай" that you have to know. Let's start with its literal meaning, even though it's not the most common. Actually, "давай" is the command form of the verb "давай" to give, so the first meaning of "давай" is "give" in the command form. Like, "давай" mean "give it to me". More often though, if you want to say "give me something", you would use its perfective form. "Дай", like, "дай" mean "ручку", give me the pen.
