What's "je" in Russian? That annoying little particle that learners of Russian are struggling to understand and is impossible to translate? Keep watching. Basically, "je" is used for emphasis in Russian, especially if we're talking about something that should already be known or clear. And in this video, I'll just use a few very common phrases with "je" and explain to you what they mean exactly so you guys can get a better feel for it. Number one, "je" is "je" but I told you already or I already told you didn't I or I already told you though. Number two, "je" is "je" but you promised or you promised though, didn't you? So likely that means that the person didn't keep their word. Number three, "je" is "je" is nice. You know that already or you do know that though. So again, talking about something that the person is supposed to know. Number four, "j" is "je" but I didn't know or I didn't know that though. Well this is something you would say if you did something bad, but you claim you didn't know it was bad or you didn't know you weren't supposed to do that. And number five, "g-dje" is "je" where are you or where the heck are you? Like I'm looking for you and I can't find you where are you "g-dje" is "je" check out my short exercise in the pinned comment and see if you can use "je" correctly. [Music]
