Top three ways to ask someone to repeat what they said in Russian. If you are a student of Russian, that's definitely a question to know how to ask. Of course, you can always go with a good old "What? What?" But in this video, I'll teach you three formal and three informal ways to ask someone to repeat what they said. By the way, in Russian it's called "Piatis Prasiet", literally to re-ask. And let's start with the three formal, perfectly polite ways to ask this. Number one, "Povtarity, пожалуйста." Repeat, please. That's quite straightforward but a perfectly polite and common way to ask someone to repeat what they said. Number two, "Mожно еще раз." Can you say it again? Or, literally, "Is it possible one more time?" And number three, "Что простите?" I'm sorry, what? "Pростите" is literally "Sorry" or "Forgive me." Which definitely takes the edge of just "Что" and makes it a perfectly polite request. All right, now to the informal ones. Now, these ones are not necessarily rude but they're quite direct so you wouldn't use them with strangers. But they're definitely okay to use with friends, family members, or maybe peers. Number one, "Чего" or even just "Что" and that's like "What?" Number two, huh? Yeah, just like that. And I guess in English, that would be the equivalent of "Huh?" And number three, "Непонял" or if you're a lady, "Непоняла" means "I didn't catch that" or "I didn't get that." Which is the perfect form of the verb "Понемать" to understand. Which one did you like best? Write in the comments. "Вот я не понял." "Вот я не понял." "Нет, все понятно." "Ну что конкретно?" "Что ты имела в виду, что ты имела в виду, что ты имела?"
