If you want to know how people always get what they want and you want to be someone who gets what you want, here's how you can do just that from someone who gets what she wants almost always. And I don't say that in a bragging way. It's just there are things that you can do to get the results that you want and I'm going to tell you how to do that. Also just a little warning, once you start doing these things and you start actually getting what you want, people are going to hate you for it, so just keep that in mind. First thing, you want to become extremely valuable, solve problems, make people's lives easier and develop skills that are hard to ignore. Because at the end of the day, all people care about is outcomes. Are you going to provide information that allows them for an outcome or are you going to give them an outcome directly? Either way, people want outcomes and the better you are able to give that to them, the more they're going to value you. So you need to show that you can give them those outcomes, you need to show that you are a valuable person. And even in terms of how you carry yourself and how you view yourself, you need to take care of yourself and show yourself as someone who is valuable. Because no one's going to treat you like someone who's valuable if you don't take care of yourself, if you look unhygienic, if you let people walk all over you. Treat yourself as someone who is valuable. Second, you need a master emotional control or at least get really good at it because being able to stay calm and stay disciplined and rational under pressure instead of reacting impulsively will cause people to think that you are more competent. And also, it allows you to be able to handle things better because there are going to be moments in your life where things are just going crazy. If you can handle those things, then you're going to be able to receive the things that other people cannot because they just fold under pressure. Next, and this is arguably one of the most important things, but you need to create opportunities for yourself rather than waiting for an opportunity. So you need to ask more network, more negotiate, more and take more chances than most people. Don't be afraid of rejection because rejection is part of getting to the goal. If you're not rejected at least a few times, then you're not doing it right. Either that or someone's probably trying to take advantage of you because you need to be someone that people are willing to bet on. And if everyone is willing to bet on you, there's probably a reason why. Next thing is to understand people and incentives, learn what people want, learn what people value, learn what people benefit from, learn what people fear, and use that so you can communicate your position more effectively so you can showcase your value and why you should be given those opportunities. Lastly, is to combine competence with confidence because even if you're competent, if people don't see confidence from you, then they're not going to think that you're actually competent. So believe in yourself, but back it up with consistent execution, back it up with adaptability and real ability so that way people know that that confidence isn't just fake confidence and you are actually competent and that should be the reason why they give you this opportunity and you get what you want. So yeah, if you do those things, you get pretty good at getting what you want but at the same time you are going to get rejected if you want to get what you want so just keep that in mind.
