I've spent most of my life mistaken admiration for love and so if you were to ask me how I finally know the difference I would say you are beautiful and that is the least interesting thing about you. Not because your beauty is insignificant but because loving you feels like being understood in a language that I didn't know I was speaking. Because the room changes when you decide to laugh with all your chest because people leave you with things that they said that they would carry to their grave and that you carry a warmth that even grief would stop to sit beside. And maybe that's why beauty alone has never been enough to keep people because eventually we all become difficult to love. And when life eventually arrives you realize sunsets do not survive heartbreak. Oceans do not learn how to forgive themselves and neither of them have your hands. The kind that rebuild things after life has torn them apart. See I have met beautiful people. People who were empty rooms with expensive wallpaper, people who had started a fire in a room and create no warmth so no your beauty is not your greatest accomplishment.
