six unhinged things my husband and I did to get out of debt the last one was a big risk but it made the biggest impact this is episode one of my new series oversharing our finances as a 35 year old married couple with one kid because i'm nosy and like this kind of content so i thought i would participate number one we lived with another married couple for five years to reduce our living expenses no we're not swingers yes they became our best friends number two we carried around this stupid and day ramsy cash only wallet if you know you know we paid for everything in cash and when we ran out of cash that was it number three my husband would calculate the cost per gram of protein in different cuts of meat to figure out which cut gave us the biggest bang for our buck number four we got married in Vietnam instead of the united states our entire wedding cost us 13 thousand dollars number five we shared a 95 Subaru outback that we got for free it was spray painted black and had like rocks and sand stuck to it and it leaked so much oil that the HOA made us refinish our parking spot and number six we took out a loan for twelve thousand dollars and went further into debt so my husband could take a three month tech boot camp to become a software engineer best decision ever if he lets me i will share his salary progression in another video because it changed our life we knew that we couldn't just save more or reduce our spending we also needed to earn more
