All right, so flag on the play seems to not really understand how extensions work So let me explain the triceps in a really really basic format So what you have here is you have the lateral head of the triceps medial long head when you take and do this and the elbow Or I should say the humerus stays in place What you're going to do is you're in an experience of meaningful lengthening and Shortening of the long head now obviously the lateral and the medial head will also shorten But that is primarily due to the elbow joint and so that's why when you do a press You could still work it, but when you do a press the long head which crosses over is not going to be meaningfully Lengthened and shortened the same way. So what happens is when you do an extension when you do an underhand extension Right when people turn like this what happens is they tend to bring their elbow in close to their side They do this and it's like okay, well the long head's definitely going to shorten and contract now if you take that same hand And you turn it over what happens for some people is they start to do this Right, so when they start to do this and they turn it into a pressing motion Then yes the long head gets worked less, but guess what you don't have to turn it into a press So when people say that the overhand version is less long head triceps what they're actually saying is a press is less long head And that is true, but you don't have to turn it into a press You can still keep the elbows tight and do an extension TNFL
