What California and some other states are doing by allowing hundreds of thousands of homeless drug addicts to wander the streets is not compassionate. And you keep on getting sold as lie that this is actually the compassionate nice thing to do, and you're voting on legislation that supports it. Here's why that's a bad idea, this is the brutal truth. True compassion requires confronting hard realities rather than enabling an individual to be self-destructive. Allowing open public drug use by homeless addicts is not compassionate, it's a form of abandonment dressed up as tolerance. Pop 47 is a great example of this. It sounded like the nice thing to do and vote on. Pop 47 reclassified low-level drug use and low-level theft as misdemeanor. Because I have empathy for these folks as well, I'm like okay like they're addicts, I don't want to punish them necessarily. The problem is this made low-level drug arrests and low-level theft arrests go down. So politicians were then like hey guys, crime is down, but it wasn't. It actually went up, it just went less reported. And since that proposition passed in California, drug use, mental health issues, and addiction are up over 50%. What's happening now in this nation is we're being placated to like children. We are sold as rosy view of compassion and it sounds nice, but it actually just creates more addicts and more pain. Oftentimes the money that gets sent from your pocket to these programs gets funneled to people who run these programs and very little actually goes to the addicts that need help. To solve this issue, it's unfortunate, but we need stricter drug laws for the specific drugs that are plaguing our streets. Like we don't need stronger weed laws, we need stronger laws on the drugs that are actually in the streets in these areas. And we do need mandatory treatment programs, either go to treatment or you have to go to jail. I've interviewed people on the streets of San Francisco who said the only way for them to get clean is to go to jail. Because many of the rehab programs that are in these cities aren't actually real, they're vulgaisy. If they be clean to enter, you have to have an ID, you have to have a cell phone, that's not serving the actual people there. I need the young generation to be aware of this because when I was young, I definitely saw the world with a more rosy view and I have compassion for these people so I would vote that same way. Then as I got older, I realized that through these programs are not working, they're not actually helping people. And the stat show that we're actually making the issue worse, we're causing more pain, the adult decision to do is actually difficult. We have to get these people off of the street.
