Being a Bikini police officer is wild!π₯ππ

Most people don't realize but looking like this used to be illegal. Yeah, in the US, UK, and most of Europe, beach police literally patrolled around with tape measures and rulers, checking to make sure that women's swimwear didn't rise six inches above the knees. And if you broke the rule, you could be fine. Or, I guess in some serious cases, taken to jail. There's literal pictures about it. And at this point, the bikini hadn't even been invented yet. But, oh, when it was in 1946 by a French engineer, of course. It caused chaos. It was banned outright in multiple countries, including Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Australia. The Vatican called it sinful and crowds even protested against these bikinis. With signs saying you're going to hell for this. Now, ultimately, things gradually changed in the 1950s and 60s when European beach tourism exploded. Women wanted to wear bikinis, the feminist movement was growing, and so governments and authorities that do quietly let the bikini bands disappear.
