The videos coming out of Colombia today are absolutely insane. Families were seen narrowly escaping their crumbling houses as they had to run out onto the streets. Construction workers were caught on the top of an incomplete building and those poles shaking just shows you how powerful these tremors were. A video show buses and trees being rocked back and forth while an 800-year-old cathedral in the city of Manizales can be seen crumbling from the impacts. People were even stuck in cable cars as this was all going down. The 7.4 magnitude earthquake was the strongest that Colombia's recorded in the last century. Hundreds of buildings collapsed. Thousands more were damaged including airports, hospitals, schools, as well as historic sites. At least 132 people have been killed. Nearly 500 injured and a state of emergency was declared by their new president just three days after taking office. And this is all less than two months after their neighbors Venezuela were hit with their deadly earthquake killing thousands.
