A five-year-old boy in China had the dream of making his own animated movie, but he could never imagine what the world would eventually do with it. Now the work on what you're seeing now began five years ago. After the boy's mom decided that she wanted to make his dream come true. So, for over half a decade, this mother and son taught themselves animation completely from scratch, using second-hand equipment because New Gear was too expensive. And that's also why the movie looks the way it does, and they also didn't have any help from AI. And they were literally the only two people credited on the whole film, writers, animators, even voice actors, just the two of them, working on a story about a cow that's nearly 90 minutes long. Now when it finally released, it flopped. It made barely any money, and cinemas didn't even get official posters, so some just drew it themselves. But since it only cost a couple thousand to make, it didn't bother them. Then, something weird began to happen. People started noticing just how bad this animation was, and so they wanted to see it for themselves. But that curiosity spiraled into a genuine box office hit, and the movie is now exploded to over $2.5 million so far. And it's even going viral globally, online. So, I guess the lesson is, sometimes you just gotta put your shit out there, let the worlds do the rest.
