Two weeks of the day after getting sentenced to prison was an action-packed day starting with a phone call, a letter, another phone call, and then a long drive I would come to regret. The first phone call was from the Big Brother's organization thanking me for my volunteer service then firing me. Then I received a letter from Bank of America where I had banks since high school. They fired me to and threatened to call in the equity line even though I had never missed a payment. Then my lawyer called to tell me that I had been designated to Taff prison camp. I'm like prison Taff, where's that? I played dumb like I didn't know I was going to prison. He's like it's fine, it's boring, you'll go, you'll come home and never talk about it again. Of course he was wrong, prison was a transformative wonderful experience for me. Then I called my best friend Brad former retired baseball player and I said dude I'm coming to pick you up, we're going for a drive. He's like where? I'm like we're not fleeing the country, get in the car and we did and we drove two hours to Taff prison camp and I stood outside that prison like I cannot believe I'm gonna live here in six weeks. What have I done? And then I immediately regretted making that drive because I wanted to go right into the prison and get started on my sentence because while waiting to go to prison, you already feel like you're in prison.
