I was just about to be sentenced to prison in Judge Wilson called a 15 minute recess and I'm like great I waited three years to get sentenced. What's another 15 minutes? I walk right out of the courtroom past my friends and family and I go to the bathroom I'm standing there looking in the mirror I had to pee but I'm like who has the energy to go pee at a time like this looking in the mirror reaching to my suit jacket Pull out some chewing tobacco which helped me cope put in the huges water chewing tobacco you've ever seen I start spitting I look at my cheeks in the mirror and I remember thinking I kid you not I felt like a gustous gloop from Charlie and the chocolate factor besides chewing tobacco I would eat as I'm waiting to go back and to get sentenced I'm like how did I end up here or the opportunities and privileges that I wasted the way my parents raised me and baseball coaches to USC holding me accountable How am I about to get sentenced to federal prison? I've done so bad for so long and for so long I didn't blame myself which means I didn't take appropriate action But even if I didn't think it was my fault which it was it was my problem and I had an opportunity to respond differently Because I didn't I was about to pay the price sort of like people who overspend on a credit card in the bill comes and it's like oh my goodness It's time to pay I walk back into the to the courtroom the chewing tobacco still in my mouth Still swallowing that chewing tobacco so the judge wouldn't see it and I knew that I was going to get sentenced to prison The question was how long because just before a judge called the recess my co-defendant Have been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison. He opened up the hearing again I spoke that I was sorry I'll never return to another courtroom consequence issue following my conduct I knew better and I'll spend the rest of my life making amends and I know you're on it regardless Have how long I serve in federal prison. I will pay for my conduct for the rest of my life He agreed appreciate the statement to give me 18 months in federal prison the upside was at least I had Clarity the downside was I would be surrendering to federal prison which I did two months later
