When I was released from prison I was how do I say totally broke not only broke I owed $35,000 in criminal restitution one thing I had left however was very good credit about a hundred thousand dollars or so I could access on credit cards with high interest. On federal probation you have to fill out a monthly probation report and I would have to disclose if I would spend more than $500 a month it didn't say I couldn't I just had to disclose it so my first three months out of federal prison I rang up like $40,000 in debt I figured I was broke I might as well go broker because if I didn't make these investments in my business in the end I would have nothing so I was prepared to just spend spend spending including printing copies of my book lessons from prison developing a website trying to cultivate and grow a new business yet like in the third month when my probation officer saw my spending he was like what the hell are you doing I'm like what do you mean he's like why are you spending five ten fifteen twenty thousand dollars on a credit card I'm like I got to develop this business he's like you owe money to your victims I'm like I know but if I don't have a business there's no income I'm never gonna be able to pay the victims back he didn't get it then he said if you ever spend more than five hundred dollars a month on your credit card I'm going to send you back to the judge you're gonna have to discuss it with judge Wilson I don't want to see nice dinners with clients or anything else if you have to pay cash I don't want to see it I want you eating at McDonald's so when I went to dinner and I realized this would be an expensive dinner and I didn't have cash and I knew my probation officer would flip the F out we have my asking that nice woman to cover dinner it was always a disconnect the probationed officer not understanding in order to make money I have to spend money as an entrepreneur they viewed it differently
