Top three most faithful movie adaptations of a book. Number three is no country for old men. Now, if I were making a movie adaptation of one of Cormac McCarthy's novels, I also would be very faithful to the material because he was a flawless writer. And they basically took dialogue directly out of the book and put it into the movie. The one thing they did change, which I always question why, is there's a scene in the book where Tommy Lee Jones's character, who's the old man, has an impure thought about a hitchhiker that he picks up, a young girl. And I always think that this adds a layer of immorality to his character, which is otherwise the moral center of the story and shows that he is a flawed human being as well. And in the film, they keep him kind of pure and perfect. Number two is to kill a mocking bird. I mean, they just did such a fantastic job adapting that book into that film with Gregory Peck. And the only thing that really is majorly different is the Mrs. Debose subplot. They cut out and just give make her like a single cameo. But it's pretty much otherwise all there and so beautiful. If you like this list and want more about other nonsense, follow me, leave me a comment with a movie that's exactly like the book. Also follow my wife, Samantha, who I've tagged. And to check out our podcast, Brutally Honest was Sam and Jacob wherever you get your podcasts. Number one, I was amazed. And one of the testaments to how fucking great this movie is, is how it basically turns a very novelistic plotline into an easy to watch film. And the biggest thing they did was they removed a chapter and then made it a big portion of the second movie. And I'm talking about the backstory of Vito Corleone. And the book and the movie is The Godfather.
