Some interviewers and companies will bend over backwards just to avoid salary discussions. But why?  Here are some of the reasons we’ve seen/heard: - they didn’t do their research and don’t know the budget  - they want to see what the candidate says first  - they subscribe to the outdated “we don’t discuss money” and HR handles that mentality  Transparency around salary saves companies and candidates time and frustration.
