Women in AI, as people come to you and ask you to speak to their group or do a training here or training there, in the beginning, you're going to be doing them without monetary compensation because you're building your business and it makes a lot of sense to get out there, get in front of different groups, start meeting people, start building your brand, et cetera. But do me a favor and don't say it's free, say my rate for this project is, you know, let's say 2500, but I do one pro bono or low bono per quarter. What I do ask is that this engagement is treated with the seriousness of a $2,500 paid speaking gig and here are the things that I would like to ask in return, right, and you've got your little list. Might be a testimonial, might be an honorarium, might be photography, things that will help you build your business and do a contract, even though there's no monetary compensation. It is a value-align transaction. I'm giving you value, you're giving me value. For free, you're not asking for anything in return, what's happening is you're actually undermining the other women who are coming behind you and they'll get asked to do it for free and the next people get asked to do it for free and the next people will get asked to do it for free. So we're all out here conditioning all these customers and clients, so let's not let anybody think that our expertise isn't valuable. It's super valuable. So say it's this much, say you do, you'll do pro bono or low bono and here's what you ask for in return and do a cheap and cheerful MOU with them, okay, I hope that's helpful.

I love a friendly debate in the comments if you’re a stan for one of these. But please don’t talk about the em dash. Not a peep. We’ve had more than a lifetime full of people who feel the need to talk about this. We get one time around. Harumph.  Also, women surpassed men in ChatGPT usage back in March 2025, so don’t try to tell me women are not adopting AI. THROW THOSE STUDIES OUT THE WINDOW. Women underreport bc we’re no dummies. We know our competence is already in question. The last thing we’re gonna do is tell our boss we’re using generative AI unless we’re sure we can do so without retribution. Also, we dont have the blind faith in technology that our counterparts tend to. We are conscientious and cautious. But we are not lagging in usage.  #responsibleai #sheleadsai #womeninai #ai
