The other day I posted this picture and I got hundreds of comments asking me how I make my oatmeal so let me show you. This oatmeal is packed with protein not from protein powder. It's got lots of fiber healthy fats and not your generic does nothing for you oatmeal. Let's go. All right we're going to start with an apple. We're just going to chop it up. You can use other fruit. You can use blueberry. That day I just happened to use apple. Apple is packed with fiber. It's got pectin a lot of really good nutrients. Nothing special just diced up my apple. Okay I've never actually attempted this angle but let's go ahead and try. I've got this on medium to low heat. I'm just throwing my apple in there. Let's go if I don't catch my hair on fire. All right apples in the pan. We're going to throw a generous amount of cinnamon. Cylon cinnamon is really good. It helps lower blood sugar regulation. It's packed with antioxidants and then I'm also going to throw probably close to three tablespoons of water and lid on. All right well that's happening. I'm going to grab some flax seed mail. I'm going to grow about a tablespoon and a half and I'm just going to blend it up. You do not, for all of you leaving comments, you do not want to use the whole seed. If you don't blend it your body can't get the nutrients and it's just going to pass right through you quite literally. Flax seeds are really great for all my girlies who are doing their seed cycling. As you can see nothing fancy just blend it up. All right trying this angle again apples are done. You're going to throw a whole cup of water into the same pan. Next you're going to take half a cup of oatmeal right in here. I will show you the brand that I like in just a second. Now all the fun starts with all the ingredients. Flax seed going right in. We already explained why those are good. My one cup got soaked up so I'm going to throw in about another half a cup of water. Next we're throwing hemp seed hearts. I'm putting one tablespoon. These are high in protein, high in antioxidants, high in fiber. I'm not measuring these but I'm throwing a good little handful of walnuts. Walnuts are an incredible healthy fat that are really good for your brain. Don't worry guys I just dropped my whole camera in my oatmeal but anyways we're going to go back to maple syrup. Use any sweetener you like. I'm going to do a tablespoon and a half but you can use coconut sugar whatever you like. I love vanilla everything so I'm going to put some vanilla bean powder. You can also just use vanilla bean extract. It's all the same. I'm just extra like that. Now as you can see at this point she's looking real thick but we're not done because we need to add some protein. Trust the process. I know you guys are thinking she's insane. She's going to put egg whites into oatmeal. She absolutely is. Here's the important part. You have to stir really, really fast. If you don't it turns into scrambled eggs and nobody wants that but just watch. I'm going to show you guys how to do this. Changing angles. Okay here goes our adventure. Start pouring them in. I'm going to put about half a cup in here. That's about 12 13 grams of protein. As you can see if you move really fast it just starts to incorporate and I swear to you on everything I know to be true. You do not taste any eggs in here because egg whites essentially really have no flavor. It's going to pick up all the flavor that we just added. As you can see she's extremely thick. Some people like it like this. If you like it stop here I'm going to add about two tablespoons of almond milk because I like my oatmeal a little bit thinner and then I'm just going to pour this into a bowl so you can see what I'm working with. This is got about 25 grams of protein. None of that coming from protein powder. And then of course we're not going to forget our apples which we're going to top our oatmeal with and then look at that. No more generic oatmeal. This is packed with healthy fats. Lots of fiber good for you and we'll keep you full for hours.
