What if we could put a fun twist on a classic coffee tradition? This is a side car. It's the practice of serving a shot of espresso with a small glass of sparkling water alongside it. The water functions as a palette cleanser for the espresso and just helps to elevate the coffee tasting experience even further. It's normally done with plain sparkling water, but I just got these new flavors from Waterloo and it got me curious about actually having fun with it. This one has a super refreshing combo of watermelon cantaloupe and honeydew notes and really reminded me of summer. This one was sweet and smooth and kind of made me think of a fruit smoothie. And this one had the best lemon flavor that I've ever tasted in a sparkling water. So I decided to polish out of espresso and serve the lemon Italian ice waterloo alongside it as a side car. And this was such an interesting flavor experience. I felt like the citrus notes from the water were helping me to get more citrusy flavor notes from the espresso. Overall, I think this is a really fun take on the side car and would be a great way to get up and start your day. That's a really fun pairing.
