So you might not know this, but not all TikTok videos are good for generating views. And if you're consistently getting low views on your account, it's probably because you're creating content that isn't viewed driven. So what I am going to do is I'm going to share with you a list of TikTok video types that always work well for views. So see if this video, so next time you're stuck for content ideas, you're feeling deflated with low views, you can come back to this to generate ideas off the back of this. And just a bit of background. My name's Lana. I'm a TikTok coach. I help other creators and small businesses grow on TikTok, but I've been working in social media marketing and content creation since 2012. I am very old. And the tips and techniques that I'm about to share with you are based on the principles of content marketing. They're the same things that I was doing back in 2012. I still use these techniques today. They will always work because they're based on the principles of content marketing. It's just the way in which you do them is slightly changed for the way that TikTok works. Okay, I'm going to start off with educational content. If you can create high value educational content that teaches somebody something, it will do well. So I'm talking hacks, tutorials, high twos, pieces of advice. Ideally, what you want to do is solve a problem with your content. And ideally, ideally, a problem that people didn't even know they had. I'm going to give you an example. So this is my friend, Elish. She did a video about how to make swimming nubbies reusable. Really simple concept, teaching parents something they probably didn't know. They probably didn't think they needed to know. This video has like over a hundred thousand views. The next type of content that works really well in terms of generating views are story times, but they're hook heavy story times. Content where you're telling a story or sharing an experience of something that has happened to you, but it has a really good hook that it's going to reel somebody in. Storytelling will always be paramount in content. It connects people and that's what social media is all about. So sharing a story of like something that has maybe happened to you or something that you're going through in a really like good like storytelling arc as well. That can be really effective for generating views, but it has to be an interesting story. I don't want a story time of your wedding day, unless you got jilted at the altar and the venue went on fire. The next type of content that always does well in terms of views is heavily reliable content. So content that examines everyday struggles or like common issues or common things that a certain group of people go through, let me explain this. So this is a creator that you're probably familiar with called Eric Roberts. He does like comedy content on comedy content works really, really well when it's reliable to people. If you can create content that makes people go, oh my god, I thought I was the only person that did this. It will do well in terms of views. The next type is transformations, any kind of transformation. So high I did X, Y or sand, a body transformation, a room transformation, any kind of before and after, if it's really impactful, it will do well in terms of views. And then controversial content. Controversial content will always stimulate views and engagement, because you will get people who heavily agree with you on something, people who heavily disagree with you on something, and then people who are just nosy and want to say both sides. What I will say though is if you want to do controversial content, you need to be quite wary if that's the direction that you're heading in, because you will get a lot of people opposing your viewpoint. And that can come with like a lot of heat and negativity. If you're going to do it, talk about something fairly lighthearted that's not going to offend or alienate a group of people. Don't attack a group of people, but maybe share your hot text on something that is fairly light. List, if you can make lists of things, they tend to do well in terms of views. People like lists psychologically were drawn to lists we like to organize our thoughts. Lists tend to be very shareable, very savable, very easy to digest. These would be quite a specific list, again, kind of relatable and targeted to a certain group of people. It can't be like, here's a list of 10 things I like, who cares? Dad make it like, here's a list of 10 newborn baby items that I totally wasted money on so you don't do the same.
