You should be getting minimum one to three new followers for every 100 views that you're getting on your content. So if you have a video with like 500 views, ideally you should be getting 10 to 15 new followers. And if you're not, I can guarantee it's because your content is missing something so painfully obvious that when I tell you what it is, you're going to kick yourself because this is one of the most common questions that I get from content creators. Why am I getting views that aren't turning into followers? And when I look at their account and they look at their content, I can see that they're missing something called the why you line in almost every post because when you think about it, right? Whenever a video comes up on your feed and you enjoy that video and you may be engaged with it, you're not necessarily inclined to hit the follow button unless you know what you're getting from this creator long term or if you feel like you're going to miss out on something by not following them. This is where the why you line comes in. The why you line is a very simple line that you add to your content that gives people context and maybe a bit of credibility and I want to give you an example of this. So a couple months ago, I was working with a content creator. She was a motherhood content creator and her content was really good. She was spending a lot of time giving tips and advice, really valuable, useful information delivered really well, but her content wasn't performing. When I looked at her content, I noticed that she never mentioned the fact that she was a mom of sex in her content, which is a huge differentiator that immediately gives context to who she is and a bit of credibility in terms of the information that she's giving. So I told her, look, I know you don't want to include your kids in your content, but just start saying in your videos towards the start as a mom of sex, as some mom with sex kids under 10, as someone who had two sets of twins, say that in your content, it's immediately going to let people know where you're coming from and give credibility to the information that you're giving. She started doing that and I shit you not. The very next time she did, her followers started increasing and she was hitting that benchmark of one to three new followers with every 100 views. So this why you line doesn't have to be a full introduction. It doesn't have to be a TED talk, a simple line of context. It could be as simple as as somebody who lost four stone, as somebody who reads a book every single day, as somebody with acne prune skin, as somebody with rosicia, as somebody who is obsessed with this genre of whatever it might be, just give a bit of context. Just adding this one simple line tells people who you are, if your content is for them and what they're going to get from your account long term, which is really powerful and really effective. And look, if you want more tips like this, if you want to know how to create content that actually gets result, actually convert into something, this is what I teach inside the content club, which is my course on community for content creators.
