Before you post a piece of content, you need to watch the first three seconds of your video back, and you need to ask yourself one question, and you need to be brutally honest when you answer this. The question is really simple. It is this. Would this make sense to a total stranger? If your video landed in front of somebody who doesn't know you, doesn't know what you post about, doesn't know what you're about to say, has no context, no reason to care, would the start of your video make sense to them? Because in an ideal world, your content is getting pushed out to the main fate, or the 4u page, in the hands of a total stranger, so who do not know you? And I see too many content creators starting their videos with things like, hey guys, happy Monday, how is everybody just jumping on to say this? Or I see very niche creators just jumping in and talking about a topic as if everybody already understands what niche they're about to talk about. They're basically talking to your existing followers, which is going to alienate anybody new. And even if your video does get views past the three seconds mark, if the rest of your content feels like an in joke, or is really context dependent, people are not going to engage, they're not going to convert into followers, you always need to talk to strangers. Because if people can not discern within the first couple of seconds, what you're about to talk about, and why this matters to them, they're going to scroll. If you make people think you're going to make them leave. People don't come on here to do homework, they don't want to process things, they want to consume content that matters to them very quickly. This means your verbal hook needs to make sense to somebody who has never seen you, doesn't know what you post to bite, and any text on the screen needs to include clear keywords that indicate what you're about to talk about, prioritize clarity. Charity is what gets you discovered, it's what the algorithm uses to categorize your content, it's what people use to process whether your content is for them.
