Tips for moving with no money: get creative or stay stuck. When you’re broke, $600 in fees isn’t just expensive. It’s the difference between moving and not moving. So you do things that sound insane to people who aren’t desperate. Like tracking down a property owner through Facebook detective work to bypass a rental platform and save fees. Sending money via PayPal to a stranger you’ve never met because you can’t afford the alternative. Is it risky? Yes. Could it have been a scam? Absolutely. But when your options are “take the risk” or “don’t move,” risk starts looking reasonable. People with money have the luxury of safety. Official platforms. Verified transactions. Professional processes. People without money have hustle. And sometimes hustle means trusting a stranger because you need to save $600 more than you need guaranteed security. Tips for moving with no money aren’t about being smart. They’re about being willing to do uncomfortable things that people with resources would never consider. Link in bio when you’re ready to move even if you’re broke. 🆘🇺🇸 #TikTokCreatorSearchInsightsIncentive

Let me tell you about one of the craziest things I did to save money with my family first move to the Dominican Republic because we did not move there with a lot of extra funds to just mess around and make mistakes. Everything had to go well, otherwise we would run out of money. So I'm Veronica and five years ago, my family left the United States for good. And I have a family of four, so we had to find housing once we got to the Dominican Republic. And I didn't have extra funds. We had $3,000 in the bank, so we didn't have a lot to be putting at deposits and getting really luxury places. I found some rentals available on a house renting platform that happened to be near the school that my kids were going to go to. And the fees on that house rental place were kind of expensive. So I figured if I could reach out to the owner individually, I could get a better deal. But the problem is the house renting platforms don't tell you their full name, of course. All I had was a first name. So I decided to go into all the expat Facebook groups and search for this person's first name because it was not like a super common name. So I searched for it, and I found somebody who I thought was the person. But like, how can you be sure? It's a Facebook profile. So I click on this person, I find them, and then once I find their first and last name, I Google that. And it turns out the house that I wanted to rent, or as a condo rather, it was on an HGTV show about buying a property in the Caribbean. So then I felt more assured that it was the right person on Facebook because it all tied together. The pictures from the link and his Facebook profile and this show, it all looked enough like the right person. So I messaged this guy on Facebook and I said, "Hey, I want to rent your place." And he says, "Okay, well, why don't you go ahead and pay me the money?" Now we all know that all good scams involve a little paypal transfer. So I, you know, think about it for a moment and I am like, "Okay, well, this is going to save us, you know, $600 on this first month rent or what have you." It was enough of a payoff that I decided to risk it. And I transferred money to this stranger on the internet in order to save the $600 that the platform was going to charge us to rent this house. And secured that month of housing at this man's condo in the Dominican Republic. And when we went over there, we had all of our suitcases from the last rental. We were going to this new rental that I had just paid for randomly on PayPal. As we were walking through the streets to take our suitcases to this new place, I was just thinking in my head, "Please let this work, please let this office have a key and know that we are coming." And thank goodness it was all legit. And we got to the office of this rental. They were expecting us because he was all the way back in the United States. And we were just depending on this office in the Dominican Republic to have a key for us for this condo that was nearby our rather rental. And it all worked out and the PayPal scam did not scam me on this particular occasion. So if you've been on my page thinking, this girl's just privileged and she has unlimited funds and she just can live abroad because she's just got money coming out of her ears. I do not. I've had to take risks. I've had to make sacrifices. And those are the kinds of things you have to do get scrappy when you're doing this kind of thing on a budget. I'm curious if there's any other people who are living abroad right now who end up seeing this video. If you've had to do anything kind of crazy in order to save money because it was a big investment to move abroad and some months you kind of run out of money. I'm curious what other things have happened to other expats who are living abroad. How they've saved money in their journey.

If picking a new country was as easy as comparing crime statistics and educational outcomes, than obviously that country would be overrun with expats. The best countries to move to are not one size fits all. Before you get your hopes up about any particular country, I suggest you take a step back. Determine your visa eligibility first. Some countries are trying to attract retirees. Other countries are welcoming digital nomads. And there are countries only looking for wealthy expats. Your income type and amount will determine what countries will take you. Schedule your exit plan call if you’re ready to stop daydreaming and start packing. #creatorsearchinsights

There are a lot of people who love the idea of moving abroad. There are fewer people who are actually ready to make it happen. The life you've built in America isn't the life you wanted. It's the life you could scrape together under constraints of: wages that don't cover basics, healthcare tied to employment, housing costs consuming half your income, constant financial stress, survival mode as default state. You didn't choose misery. You chose best option available within impossible constraints. But those constraints are geographic. Change geography, change constraints, change what's possible. The apartment you can barely afford in America becomes the nice place with breathing room abroad. The paycheck that barely covers survival in America becomes the income that allows saving abroad. The constant stress about one emergency destroying you financially becomes manageable situation where emergencies are expensive but not catastrophic. Same income. Same skills. Same person. Different location. Completely different life. You're not stuck because you lack resources. You're stuck because resources you have don't work in location you're in. Move those resources to location where they work better, and you're not stuck anymore. But moving requires: tolerating uncertainty about how things will work out, being uncomfortable while figuring out new systems, releasing familiar patterns even when familiar is miserable, trusting you can build better life from scratch. Most people choose familiar misery over unfamiliar uncertainty. Devil you know feels safer than devil you don't, even when devil you know is grinding you down. This is why people stay in: jobs they hate, relationships that don't work, locations that don't serve them, lives that feel like slow suffocation. Because at least they know how to survive current misery. Unknown is terrifying even when unknown might be better. But what if you're not choosing between misery and uncertainty? What if you're choosing between: familiar misery that will continue indefinitely, or temporary uncertainty that leads to actually building life you want? When you're in survival mode, you're making choices based on: what's cheapest, what's fastest, what gets you through next month, what keeps crisis at bay. Not what you actually want. What you can manage given constraints. Those choices compound into life that doesn't reflect your preferences. Reflects what you could piece together while drowning. But when you move somewhere your income works better, you're not in survival mode anymore. You have breathing room to choose based on: what you actually want, what serves your family, what creates life you're proud of. That's not small difference. That's the difference between life you're enduring and life you're choosing. Living in America isn't default you're stuck with. It's choice you're making every day by not choosing differently. And choosing differently is available to you. Link in bio for people ready to choose. What would you choose if survival wasn't consuming all your energy? 🆘🇺🇸
