Alex Hermosi has nine million followers. He sold over a million copies of his book and he's widely known as one of the best marketers of our generation. In almost every TikTok shop affiliate is watching his content, the problem though, they're just listening and not applying anything. Hermosi has one line that hits very hard. He says, "If you did not change your behavior, you didn't learn anything, you just consumed." And that is exactly what's happening with 99% of affiliates right now. You consume a ton of marketing content. You feel a lot smarter, but your bank account doesn't change. That's what I like to call mental masturbation. You're not getting any better, you just feel like you are. So I'm making a five part series to solve this problem. I'm gonna take Hermosi's greatest lessons and translate them into TikTok shop moves that you can take and put into your content tomorrow. Follow so you can catch all five videos and save this one so you have part one. Here's lesson one. Hermosi tells a story. Imagine you walk in a steakhouse and you're starving. You order a steak, they serve you steak. You eat it. After the waiter comes up to you and she goes, "You want another?" And you go, "No, I'm full." But the next week you walk in and you're starving and the waiter comes up to you before you've eaten and she asks you, "Do you want two steaks?" And you say, "Yeah, yeah, two sounds good." The same product, the same waiter, but a completely different answer. Why though? The sale wasn't about the steak. It was about timing it to the moment of deepest hunger. Hermosi calls this the point of greatest deprivation. You want to sell at the point of greatest pain, not the point of greatest satisfaction. Now it applies to your videos. Most affiliates are filming for someone in a neutral state. The viewer who's just casually doom scrolling. The viewer who's not currently feeling any pain. Top affiliates film for the viewer in their worst moments with the exact problem. You don't want to sell to people who want clear skin. You want to sell to the person who woke up two days before a wedding and had a giant pimple on their forehead. Don't sell to the person who just gets hot at night. Sell to the person who's lying awake at 3 a.m. and they're sweating through their sheets and they have to wash them every single morning. Don't sell to the person with bad posture. Sell to the person who caught themselves in a photo and they were terrified with how horrible their posture looked. Pain doesn't happen in categories. It happens in exact moments. And your only job is to land your video in the exact second where their problem is the loudest. That is the point of greatest deprivation and that is when people buy. Hermosi sells this concept to billion dollar companies and you can just take it now and apply it to your videos tomorrow. Part two drops next. Follow so you can catch it and save this video so you still have part one. And one fun thing I want you to do is comment down below the product you're promoting and I want other affiliates to comment what they think the point of greatest deprivation is. See you guys in the next video.
