You want to actually hit someone where it hurts, I needed to understand that the worst thing that you can make a person feel is not angry. It's being me to feel like they don't matter. There are psychological studies that have been done on children, on the effects of ignoring someone. There's a reason why in prisons when they want to punish you, they isolate you. If you want to teach somebody how to treat you, I need you to understand that the behavior that will be repeated is the one that you reward. I'm going to say that again, the behavior that will be repeated is the one that you reward. I'm not rewarding the behavior, I'm just telling them just how badly they hurt me. Exactly. Negative attention is still attention. The only way to handle someone who has disrespected you is distance and disinterest. When you distance yourself from this person and you don't give them the emotional reaction that they're looking for, you're doing two things. Number one is you are showing them through your actions and remember actions are always louder than words. That your behavior is not worthy of a reaction from me. And number two is you are repelling what is toxic and predatory because narcissistic people love people who are highly emotional. And they know that if they can control your emotions, they can control you. But if you can control your own emotions, you can regulate yourself and validate yourself, your life will never be the same.
