I posted this something a couple of weeks ago about this new era of the desperate content creator. I sort of came up with after working in social media and absorbing just how many people want this to be their full-time job, so people's content is starting to feel desperate and like, people are desperate to grow following desperate to be gifted things. I think it's just such an interesting era that we are in at the minute because even last year, someone would have made a piece of content saying that they've quit their 95 to pursue being a content creator full-time. You would have so much backing from people and you would grow really fast because that was such a bold thing to do. I feel like now it doesn't have the same emotional appeal because it feels like it's something everyone is trying to do. So people aren't rooting for each other in the same way. I think when you come across as if you're trying to build a following and you admit that you want it to be your job, people just don't back you in the same way. Though I thought a talk about things I see creators do that makes people want to root for them and that does make it become their full-time job, but without having to outwardly ask for it and be that desperate content creator. I think the first thing would be almost like not breaking the fourth wall with people. I think when people start to admit that the hungry for followers, it turns people away. So when people are like, "I'm trying to get to 10k, get me to 10k," they never speak about things like that. They almost just document because it's fun to document and people buy into that more now. I also would love to know if anyone else has noticed our signature series have had a real decline. It used to be such a big thing where it would be like day one of trying to build 100k followers in 100 days. I think because of everything I've just mentioned, it's not having the same effect. And actually if I think to some creators that I feel like are popping off at the minute, they are just like normal everyday people just posting what makes them happy. I think an interesting one as well is that they're not showing that they are an influencer, so even though they're building a following, they're not like showing stuff that they're being gifted or going to these different events. I think that's because it is so in demand at the minute that it almost brings out jealousy and people rather than support. It's such an interesting topic that I feel like I'd just go around and run in circles with. I'm just trying to determine what makes like a good constant creator and then this new like desperate content creator. So let me know any thoughts below.
