There is one style of hook that is basically impossible for people to ignore. They cannot screw past this. You've watched videos using this hook. You probably engage with videos using this hook. There are three parts to this. I'm gonna explain exactly what they are so you can use them for your next video. Get ready. The first part is curiosity. You need to immediately say something that creates a gap between what people know and what they want to know. Could be something like there is one thing most parents don't realize about toddler tantrums. Or I've noticed something very interesting about highly successful people. But curiosity on its own is not enough to stop people screwing. You need to combine this with loss of version. You essentially need to make people fail like they're gonna miss out if they don't watch the rest of your video. There's a cost to not watching. There is a reason to stay. But you might say something like there is one thing most parents don't realize about toddler tantrums and it could be making them worse. So you've made them curious. You've given them somewhat of a reason to stay. Now you need part three to compel people to stay. This is where you bring in dopamine. Dopamine is not giving people a reward. It's creating anticipation of a reward. You need to make people feel like something good is coming. Whether it is a shortcut, a tip, a piece of advice, a solution. Maybe something shocking, something funny. So it could be something like most parents don't realize this one thing about toddler tantrums and you could be making them worse. Let me show you a very quick fix. There is one skincare mistake that most people are making before bed and it could be undoing your entire routine. Let me tell you what you should do instead. This is just one of many styles of hooks that you can use at the start of your videos. I have an entire module on hooks in the content club which is my course on community for content creators. But this one is particularly effective because it pulls three psychological levers at once. So much of content creation is going to understanding the psychology of attention. Once you kind of master that, you become unstoppable.
