This is part two of the borderline manipulative sales tactics I've used to generate millions on TikTok shop. This one I'm about to teach you is so subtle that 99% of affiliates are not using it. And it's the reason their video is losing the sale before the customer even has time to pull out the card. Quick recap, if you miss part one, I have done $3.5 million in GMV as an affiliate and I'm quite literally obsessed with sales psychology. It's all I study. The first tactic was called the fake flaw. You haven't seen it, watch it after this. And today's tactic might be even more powerful. It is called the cost of inaction. Here is what 99% of affiliates are doing wrong. They get in front of the camera and they start talking about how cheap the product is. It's cheap, it's never been. It's such a good deal. Action on sale right now. All these things can be good, but let's be real. That's kind of a dead pitch. Why? Because you're making the viewers brain think about money. And when they're thinking about money, they're thinking whether they should spend it or not. You have now activated what's called resistance. Here's a tiny percentage of affiliates, like 0.1% who do the opposite. They don't really talk about how cheap the product is. They make it sound expensive not to buy it. Let me first show you an example of what this looks like outside of TikTok shop. Picture there's a fitness coach selling in a thousand dollar program. Here's the bad pitch of the program. It's a thousand dollars. You get 12 months of coaching. You get custom macros, weekly check ins. And you know, I'm gonna give you a custom game plan to fit exactly what you need. You're just listing features. You're selling the product like could that work maybe? How about this? Here's the elite coach. He sits with you and he says something like this. So how long you been telling yourself you need to get in shape? Like two years, five years now. And how many times have you started a diet and quit by like week three? You're 35 now. Listen, man, let's be honest. You're gonna spend the next decade in this same body making the same excuses, having the same conversations. That's the cost. The thousand dollars is now the cheap part. He's not selling the program. He's selling the cost of not doing anything for another decade. And now the prospect's brain is not really thinking is this worth a thousand dollars? It thinks is another 10 years of being unhappy with my body worth saving a thousand dollars. The math flips and now the decision is pretty obvious. Here's the psychology behind this because you need to understand this so you can apply it to your videos. Humans are motivated way more by loss than they are by gain. Losing a hundred dollars hurts way more than winning a hundred dollars feels good. It is called loss adversion and is one of the most powerful forces in sales. When you're selling the product, you're offering a gain, getting clearer skin. When you're selling the cost of inaction, you're highlighting a loss. You're losing another year to this problem if you don't act. The brain is gonna respond to loss adversion every time. And if you understand the principle, you can now take this and apply it to almost every single TikTok shop category. Anything that solves a pain point. First gain care, you can wake up in the morning and keep covering yourself with loads of foundation or you can just fix the problem in like three weeks. Sleep products, you can keep waking up groggy and tired every single night from not sleeping well or you can actually fix the problem and sleep well tonight. Bear with me, make these scripts better, these are off the top of my head. Maybe something like a posture corrector, you can keep dealing with neck pain for another 10 years or just spend 30 bucks and fix the cause. Notice the pattern here, I'm not leading with the price. I name the pain, I make staying in the problem the more expensive option and the product actually just becomes a cheaper way out. Don't only sell the price, sell the cost of staying in the problem. The viewers gonna do the math in their head and for the most part, they're gonna just favor by. Part three drops next. The tactic might be one of the most powerful of the entire series, save this so you can come back to it and comment down below how you're gonna use this for your own product. See you in the next one.
