The quality of your audience as a content creator is the thing that matters most

One of the most successful content creators I have ever worked with has less than 20,000 followers, actually less than 18,000, to be exact. Most of his videos don't even get a thousand views, and here's what you're really going to hit. He is making more than your entire monthly salary every single day through his content. By the kind of content he creates as for a very specific type of business owner trying to scale and generate more leads. The reason his content converts is because he understands the difference between follower count and follower quality. follower count is a measurement of your reach and nothing else, but follower quality is a measurement of influence and action. It's influence and action that actually pays the bills. Genuinely one of the worst things that can happen to your account is attracting the wrong kind of followers or low quality followers. So I'm going to show you how to avoid this so you don't end up like one of those influencers with like half a million followers that couldn't sell water to a choking camel in the desert. So generally speaking the type of content that attracts low quality followers is content that gets attention without any kind of connection. What's things like trends and short videos where people follow because they like the content, the trending sign, the trending format, they maybe find your B-roll quite relatable, but they don't have a reason to care about you. Then also if you're jumping from topic to topic in every single video, like one video is about motherhood, the next one is about food, the next one is about beauty, the next one is about fashion. You're going to attract a lot of people who are interested in those isolated pieces of content, but don't have a reason to invest in your account as a whole. In terms of how to attract high quality followers, one of the strongest types of content you can create is identity-driven content, because people follow people that they see themselves in. I'm a single mom of three, I'm a divorced dad, I'm a therapist, I'm a teacher, I'm a sci-fi fan. Also any content that has a strong narrative, maybe you're getting married, renovating a house, training for a marathon. And there is a storyline with an unfinished ending that creates narrative tension and gives people a reason to get emotionally invested enough to come back for more. Also any content that is very specifically problem-solving, the more specific the problem, the higher the quality, the followers. For example, you can be a therapist who is doing a lot of content about self-improvement and it might be really good, but you're going to attract a lot of different types of people with a lot of different types of issues. But if you are a therapist who helps other therapists get more clients, you're going to have a very specific audience that you can move to action. And then any content that creates a shared belief, so any really strong opinion-based content. The strongest communities and tribes are built upon a shared world view. Now if you want to learn more about how to generate a high quality following, this is what I teach in the content club which is my course on community for content creators. The entire thing is about how to get the right eyeballs on your account so you can actually have longevity as a content creator. There's a reason why over 10,000 people have signed up and got results like this. If you would like to be one of those, send me a DM and I will give you a discount code to get in there.
