He doesn’t just control the money. He controls the options. That’s why financial abuse feels so quiet at first… until you realize you need permission to survive. If he keeps you broke, guilty, dependent, or scared to spend money, that is not marriage. That is control. Comment CONTROL if this hit too close. #financialabuse #toxicmarriage #emotionalabuse #mamatones #womenhealing

If your husband hates you watch what he does with the family money. He'll call it his money like you didn't give your life to that house. That's not being a provider. That's financial abuse. I'm Emma Tones. I help women in toxic marriages hear the truth that they've been talked out of trusting. Some of you need to stop acting like money is just a touchy subject in your marriage because it isn't. Watch how he uses it. He says it's my money while you're cooking, you're cleaning, raising kids, doing laundry, managing appointments, remembering birthdays, holding that whole house together with your bare hands. But when the money comes in, suddenly it's his account, his rules, his decision, his permission. You have to explain why you bought groceries, you have to justify needing gas, you have to feel guilty for buying shampoo. Meanwhile he spends money like a grown man and makes you ask for it like a child. He loves to control it and don't let him twist it. Providing does not mean owning you. Paying bills does not mean silencing you. Making more money does not mean he gets to treat you like you're living off of his mercy. A man who loves his wife wants her safe. A man who hates his wife wants her dependent. There's a difference. And some of you already know it because you feel panic before you even ask him for money. That panic is information for you that not in your stomach is not laziness. That's your body knowing he's about to make you feel small for needing basic things. He's not stressed. He's not just careful with money. He's not cheap. He uses money to punish you, trap you, shame you, monitor you or make you beg. This is called financial abuse. If you've lived this right money in the comments below, share this with the many women that need it. Stay here. I'm mama tones. Follow for more.
