you can actually hack people's brains into watching your content because there are certain neurological triggers that just make people react and if you're not using these, you're kind of doing it on hard mode because all of these things are super easy to implement so I'm going to tell you exactly how to do this so you can feel like a Jedi with the next video you post. One of the key things to understand is this, right? The scrolling brain and the conscious brain are two completely different things. The scrolling brain is very fast but also very lazy at the same time, it's highly emotional and it's making decisions in a split second. And whenever it comes upon a new piece of content, it is asking one question. Is this worth my time and attention? Good content creators understand this and build their content around this. So one of the first things you want to include is some element of familiarity in your content. This taps into something called the mere exposure effect which is basically that human brains like things they recognize. So if your content looks like something that someone has enjoyed before, they're more likely to stop and pay attention because it feels safer and the mental load is lower. This is why trends work so well so you want to make sure you're studying high-performing content, especially how it looks in the first couple of seconds and then package your ideas in a way that looks familiar. The next thing is a big one and this is the trigger dopamine in your content but most people misunderstand what dopamine is, it's not about giving people a reward, it's about the anticipation of a reward. Want to make people feel like something shocking or exciting or interesting or useful is coming and you can do this in the way that you edit your content, make it feel like there's going to be a reveal or a result or in what you say, say things like watch this, look at this, I'm going to show you how to do this. The next thing is one of the biggest psychological drivers and that is to use high arousal emotions that activate people into sharing. Not all emotions and content are equal. Things like shock or disgust or awe or excitement will make people react. Example of awe would be something like this 65-year-old woman just started creating content and now she has a million followers and then an example of shock would be something like I spent 10,000 pounds on this luxury holiday and regretted it instantly. Then the next thing you want to make sure that you're always doing is telling stories in your content. There's so many benefits to storytelling but the mean neurological benefit is that it can release oxytocin. This is the bonding hormone and it makes people trust you, lowers their defenses, they stop thinking critically and they're less resistant to what you're saying. I could do so many more of these so if you want to part two, drop a comment and let me know and if you want to learn more about this stuff, this is kind of what I teach in the content club which is my course on community for content creators where I teach you how to grow and how to actually get results from your content. If you would like in, send me a DM and I will give you a discount code.
