Late night creative thoughts trying to articulate to myself what I value. Words are just words but they can really shift our perception. So I enjoy the process of interrogating the language we use, especially the definitions that represent creative principles. What do you think? Is your creative taste and your eye the same thing? Is one better?

A lot of talk about taste, not enough talk about your eye. Can you spot something out in the distance before anyone else even notices that it's there? Can you time your path to intercept it, pull it in a new direction? Can you see the choices in front of you, see the direction you could take it, even the ones no one would think to consider? It's what you see in the world, and also what you see in yourself, vision for what drives the masses and vision for what drives you. Taste is admirable, but feels reactive, taste has to be served, feels docile, your eye, your eye sees a head.

The pink vs green art direction in Wicked is genius. - It represents the moral question of the film. - it forces audiences to choose sides, even when buying merch. CTA!! - it’s a scalable visual device that bridges languages globally. - and super simple to execute across mediums and channels for the hundreds of marketing partners that participated And the way our associations with those colors have changed over time makes the meaning even richer. Good isn’t always good. Wicked isn’t always wicked. What else have noticed about the art direction of @Wicked: For Good? @Universal Pictures #wickedforgood #artdirection

I’m realizing this conversation around AI is unavoidable, but is often either blind hype or total fear. No nuance. So I'd love to hear your thoughts: Where should AI belong in the creative process? Is it just another tool in the workflow… or is there a point where it crosses into territory that should stay human? I don’t want hot takes. I want real opinions. If you work in design, production, post-production, or anything from concept to creation, what’s the line you personally won’t cross? I’ll be in the comments with you. And yes, the humans at Adobe really are listening. #AdobePartner

#ad Great ideas start with an insight. And the best insights I’ve found come from traveling. I’ve learned that from years of working as an art director and creative director making commercials and content for the biggest brands in the world. Let your great ideas travel even further with @amexgbt
