Nico found a babe and grew it to what it is today. Part 2 Following on from my last video, babe products were only able to be purchased by appointment. However, Nico started to realise the full commercial potential of babe and made a very uncharacteristic move. He did a collaboration with Pepsi in 2001 as the brand's first magical house. This was the point you realised the exclusivity that he used to establish babe wasn't necessary for the future of the brand and aimed for widespread market appeal. This killed the exclusive element of the brand, but the designs and styles were still very popular. Nico then met Farrell through a jig of the jeweler in the mid 2000s. Rob became a catalyst for making the brand popular in the west, catapulting babe into a globally recognised label. This brought about the exclusivity at first, because babe only had stores in Asia and online shopping was relatively new. So this new market found it very difficult to get the products. It's a capitalise on this new market, Nico opened stores in New York and LA in 2005 and 2006. Not only was babe's clothing becoming very popular, but so are their babes and sneakers, leading to their chronic collaboration with Kanye. Babe firmly had their foot in the door of the western street where a market, but their growing supply eventually got the brand into a lot of financial trouble. Followed for part 3.
