We constantly avoid true connection to protect our egos. But if you're really in service to your soul and to life and to something so much greater than your own ego, it's really important to recognize what those mechanisms are when they're playing out, why they're happening, and how we can create a sense of safety and groundedness and resourcing for your nervous system, and for like the true deeper parts of you so that you're not just like playing out ego games all the time, because you deserve to have those nourishing, soulful, authentic relationships and also to experience and be in service to something so much greater than your ego self. Before I go on, disclaimer, we all have ego selves and we all have these patterns and we all have these scripts. They may play out to greater or lesser degrees depending on how much therapeutic, somatic work you've done, and how triggered you get, the kind of environments you're in, how aligned your life is to who you truly are. Okay, they're going to play out to different degrees, but more or less this is a really helpful thing to understand for all people, whether it's you experiencing it or just noticing and observing patterns in the world. So here's the key, we avoid true relating because it will fundamentally change us. It will transform us. But our egos think that we are this static thing, I am this thing, I identify with this thing here, look at my resume, look at who I am, look at, you know, I'm a vegetarian, I'm a this, I'm a that, okay, and we've created a really tight boundary sense of self that we locate ourselves in. It helps us feel safe, it helps us navigate relating in the chaos of life, okay. But true connection, true relationship, true erotic exchange, not sexual, just the eros of like really being alive, really letting yourself be fully witnessed, bringing something authentic of yourself forth to actually be in relation to another. That quality of relating will change you and it will transform you and it will transform another. Think about how you became who you are, think about the pivotal moments in your life, think about the moments that you can never get back that are fundamentally altered something in you, right. Those are moments of deep vulnerability, those were moments of permeability. And so we have to recognize that the ego is playing games to reinforce whatever it wants to believe about who you are, whether that be a really high vision or a really low vision of who you are, it will manifest patterns, relationships, situations, opportunities over and over again to confirm your beliefs about your identity. And once you can see through this, you'll be like, ah, okay, interesting, you know, I have an inclination to attract patterns that confirm my low self worth. But that doesn't mean that that is a truth about who I am. And now I'm going to start noticing that and I'm going to start being more discerning and I'm going to start, you know, calling myself in and out and clarifying like what's going on in these situations so that I'm actually aligning to meet people from the heart. You know, we can go on and on about this topic, ask whatever questions you have, I'll see if I can make more specific videos because this is incredibly important, incredibly important.
