Am I the asshole for being mad that my boyfriend only follows Instagram models? Story time? Oh, one day I met my boyfriend's house. And we'll call my boyfriend, Steve. We're sat in the living room, his mum and dad were there, we're watching a film, and Steve literally has the attention span of a nap, so he doesn't really watch films, but he was scrolling through his Instagram stories, just watching what the world was up to. So, I was looking ever short of being a little nosy girl, and I realised that every single story was from like an Instagram model. Either that or it was like all the hot girls from our school. It was the Keeney pick, after the Keeney pick. Now don't get me wrong girl, he's post your content, get that back. And the longer it's going on, I'm like, oh my god, this is a lot, this is getting quite embarrassing actually. And I was getting so wowed up, just watching him flick three stories. Steve got up to go to the bathroom. So, I started to unfollow all of them whilst he was on the toilet, I'm like a whippie. Listen, I'm not normally wanting to go on his phone, but desperate times call for desperate measures. And I was about to be bold with this, I had nothing to hide. So, when he came back, I just kept hold of his phone and carried on with following girls. Now you may think I'm being a little bit dramatic here, but these were the only people who was following like some of his friends weren't even in his following list. So he goes, excuse me what the hell do you think you're doing? And I'm just like, oh I'm just on following the girls. And I just remember saying, is that going to be an issue for you? He got so pissed off with me, he started acting as if I had betrayed him for unfollowing these girls. Steve, baby, get your priorities right off. He literally turns me and was like, why would you do that? Why did I have to stay? He said you literally have a girlfriend that you pose with all the time like it's kind of embarrassing to have a following list that looks like that. I can't really remember what happened in this section, but I just can't think it's embarrassing like none of them follow you back. And this little fucker has the audacity to turn around and say, well they used to follow me back. Steve, they didn't know they didn't stop trying to inflate your ego. So I thought that like we were just going to argue about this and it was going to, you know, like be done with. We weren't just going to argue, he'd stop following the girls, blah blah blah. So this next bit left me in literal disbelief. This man takes his phone back off me and asks me if he can follow them back. What do you mean? He's very mine, I had just unfollowed them all. Honestly, the audacity is kind of admirable though, like imagine him wanting to follow these girls back so badly that he's now asking for my permission. So I say to him like, of course you can follow them back, like that's not an issue at all. He's like, oh really? Thank you, but if you do that, I will literally get on a train and go home right now. And yeah, this is literally like two years ago, I would probably deal with this a lot more differently now. But I think this is such an interesting topic, like please do let me know if you find following like Instagram models or girls on Instagram is a big red flag. Personally, it doesn't really matter me that much unless it is like this type of situation where they are the only people that he's following.
