Here are the top five things that you should start doing if you want to heal your gastritis and what I did to heal mine. Hey everyone, I'm Marisol. And I got gastritis in June 2024 last year. I had horrible stomach pain, bloating, acid reflux, and I couldn't eat anything without my stomach hurting. I researched how to heal gastritis and within two weeks of following a low acidic cold foods diet, my stomach pain started to go away. And then within three months, I was pretty much symptom free. So the number one thing that you should start doing if you just found out you had gastritis is eating a low acidic whole foods diet. That means eating foods with a pH of five or higher, obviously the higher the better. But this is to help reduce the amount of stomach acid being produced and to help minimize irritation of the stomach lining so it can heal. So here's a list of foods that I ate that are all low acidic whole foods. This includes link around meats like turkey, chicken, chicken breast, chicken tenders, salmon, cantuna, all the meats that are low in fat and easier to digest. Some safe fruits to eat are honeydew melon, banana, papaya, canelope, watermelon, and then vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, squash. The second thing is to stay away from spicy foods, caffeine, coffee, chocolate, tomato, citrus fruits, red meats. All these things are just going to irritate your stomach more. A lot of people are also surprised by red meats. Red meats are just a lot harder to digest when you have gastritis and are also higher in saturated fats. Focus on lean meats like the turkey and chicken. The third thing is to split each of your meals into two small meals so that you're eating six times a day. Doing this because if you eat one full meal all at once, that is too much for your stomach to handle right now. Your stomach is so sensitive. Your stomach lining is inflamed, it's irritated, and you don't want to put a whole bunch of food in your stomach that's just going to rub up against the walls. So the more food that you have in your stomach, the more acid you are going to produce to help break it down. What I did is my first breakfast in the morning was at seven, and then the second one was at nine, and then for lunch at eight at 12, and then the second one at two o'clock, and then for dinner by eight at five, and then the second one at seven. The fourth tip would be to eat soft foods into your food very well until it's like a period consistency. Soft foods are just more gentle on your stomach. Just make sure you are really chewing your food. Remember, we have digestive enzymes in our saliva that help break down food, eat slow, don't rush, and then the fifth thing would be to eat low fat meals. Remember, this is just temporary. We eat meals that are high in fat. We produce more bile, we produce more stomach acid. Again, this will just irritate the stomach, and you will come to find if you're eating this healthy diet, they're all low acidic foods, if your stomach is still hurting, your meal actually might have too much fat, and that's what I came to learn at the beginning of my journey. I was eating all the foods, everyone was telling me to eat, but then I was still having stomach pain, it was because my meals were too high in fat. Sometimes we think just drizzling a little bit of olive oil is a little bit of oil. You actually compared a tablespoon of oil and a teaspoon of oil. It's a huge difference. A tablespoon has a lot more fat compared to a teaspoon. You really want to measure out how much fat each of your meal has. And I noticed once I started doing that, it made a huge difference on how my stomach was feeling. If you have any other helpful tips that you'd like to share with this community, please comment them in the comment section below 'cause I know a lot of people here are struggling with gastritis, can use all the help that they can get. Here’s my results of my second endoscopy! Do I still have gastritis? This just shows what everyone says is true, you can still have some form of gastritis even if you don’t have the main symtpoms of it like severe stomach pain. This is why you should continue to eat your strict diet for 6 months- 1 year as it takes a long time for our stomachs to heal. I eat around 2,000 calories a day now, no stomach pain, but my stomach is slightly inflammed. Like I said in the video, I honestly think my gastritis healed but my stomach has gotten a little inflammed again from the bile acid that I now have and this is what’s actually causing the slight inflammation. I will continue to eat my diet for another 3 months and figure out how to balance everything in my gut. I hope my story can help some of you and your journey to recovery as I’m still trying to fight through this as well with all of you.
