I keep this in my office as a daily reminder. You’re entitled to the basics - food, shelter, safety. Everything beyond that? That’s on you. No one’s coming to do the work for you. #Alcatraz #BusinessGrowth #Perspective

I keep this sign in my office as a reminder of the old saying, if it is to be, it's entirely up to me. I think the people at Alcatraz here got this right. You're entitled to food clothing, shelter and medical attention. Anything else you get is a privilege. This doesn't apply in my opinion just to the people at Alcatraz. It's actually a great reminder for life as well. Anything else that I want above this minimum is entirely my responsibility to go and learn and to make happen. It's no one else's responsibility. It's entirely mine. So this is why I keep this in my office every day as a reminder that anything that I want above and beyond the minimum is entirely up to me. It's got to come off my bat. It's no one else's responsibility.
