We don’t hide our work from our kids. They hear about it, they see it. Sometimes they even sit in on the hard conversations and roleplay them with us. Not because they need to know everything, but because it builds their skill set. Work isn’t something to suffer through. It’s a tool to create the life you want. Kids aren’t a distraction. They’re usually just interested in what you’re building. This isn’t work-life balance. It’s work-life education. And I didn’t learn everything I needed from school. Neither will they.
