A BBQ that’s been all about meat for over a decade… then one guest expected the entire menu to change for them. The host offered a separate grill instead, but now the family is divided. Was that a fair compromise? 🥩🌱 #AITA #FamilyDrama #VeganVsMeat #Storytime #Debate

Am I wrong for refusing to change my annual barbeque for my sister's vegan boyfriend? Every year I host what my family call a meat extravaganza. A barbeque that's all about smoke biscuits, burgers, ribs and we have a homemade barbeque sauce competition. We've had the same tradition for over 10 years. This year my sister asked if she could bring her new boyfriend. He's vegan and I said absolutely. Then she told me she expected me to provide a full vegan meal just for him because he couldn't eat any of the other food that we do. He told her that the whole event evolves around meat and changing the menu at the last minute didn't make sense. He even joked that he could just eat the burger toppings which apparently didn't go down well. I said he was more than welcome to bring his own food along. She could be rude instead of having invite someone I should cater to their dietary needs. Even so, I'd be compromised that if he brought his own food there would be a spare grill for him that would just be for his vegan food. To ensure there was no cross contamination. He still thinks I'm being prejudiced and excluding him based on his dietary requirements. I just feel like having one themed meat event out of the whole year shouldn't have to change just because of one person. Am I wrong for refusing to change our annual tradition?
