My wrong for refusing to stop taking my daughter on holidays because her dad can't afford to do the same for his other children. I share a tenured daughter with my ex, we split years ago, and whilst we co-parent really well, our financial situations are very different. My husband and I are financially very comfortable, and we enjoy taking my daughter away on trips. Over the past year we've been to Spain, Disneyland Paris and multiple weekend trips. Recently my ex called and asked me to stop taking her on expensive holidays. At first I thought he was joking, but he said it wasn't fair. Because he now has free younger children with his wife, and can't afford to give them the same experiences. He said, "Our daughter goes to his house, excites me talking about the trips." Now half siblings get upset and ask why they can't go too. I told him that I wasn't going to deny my daughter experiences just because other children couldn't have them, but I would tell her to be mindful about what she says around them. He accused me of creating divisions in his household, and said I should stick to cheaper activities. I refused, and now he's telling people that I'm deliberately trying to make him look bad as a father. father. Am I wrong for refusing to stop taking my daughter on trips because he can't afford to?
